Fries Chicken
Fries chicken is one of the favorite meals around the world. Therefore; I can provide you with a recipe for crispy oven-baked chicken that resembles the texture of fries. Here we go:
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900g) chicken drumsticks or wings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Vegetable oil cooking spray
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
3. Dip each chicken piece into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's coated on all sides. Then roll the chicken in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating. Place the coated chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet.
4. Once all the chicken pieces are coated and arranged on the baking sheet, lightly spray them with vegetable oil cooking spray. This will help them achieve a crispy texture.
5. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
6. Halfway through the cooking time, you may choose to flip the chicken pieces for even browning, but it's not necessary.
7. Once the chicken is cooked through and crispy, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
These oven-baked chicken "fries" make for a healthier alternative to traditional fried chicken, while still providing that satisfying crunch. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauces or enjoy them on their own as a delicious snack or main course. Happy cooking!
Buon appetito!
